This year a new limited edition of Moleskine daily and weekly organisers is presented - those ones are leather covered, and there’s only 6 copies of each type in Ukraine.

Diaries and Weekly Diaries  are black or red, but only Pocket sized. The cover is made of hand-curried patent leather. The notebooks of this edition are wrapped in nice gift package made for this case specially. When the package is open it can serve as a rest for the Moleskine.

The idea of that unusual package is called up with the Japanese movement “furoshiki” - that word means “bath mat”. In fact, that is a square piece of fabric used for wrapping and carrying things of any size and form.

In old times, in bath house (furo) the Japanese used to wear delicate cotton kimono which the visitors brought with them, together with the special mat (shiki) to stand on while  undressing. After putting on the kimono, the visitor wrapped his cloths in the mat, and after bath he wrapped the wet kimono to take it home. That was the way of turning the bath mat into a multifunctional bag.

The Japanese use furoshiki in the everyday life, that is very handy, because fabric shapes the wrapped thing, and the handles make carrying even easier. Nowadays furoshiki is made of cotton, silk and mixed fabrics, sized 40-80 cm.
