Your Personal Moleskine

Personal LogosCreative people are always in search for something new, something better, more interesting. You won’t deny that would so great to have a unique notebook! A notebook with your name, or initials, or your logo printed at the cover.

That is of special interest for the leaders who care about their institution image: company emblem or logo at the notebook’s cover together with a small badge at the jacket lapel – and your company’s officer will be remembered and recognized. And don’t forget about the gifts! Bright cover, lettering in relief – you can invent anything: a dedication, best wishes, or just the initials of the hero of the occasion. Anyway, that is always pleasant to get a present made for you especially.

Henceforth you can invent your own, unique moleskine. We’ll create the original design of the notebook (picture, or impression, and paper notebook jacket) according to your guidelines and your company image. You can order a personal notebook entitled with one’s initials, dedication, or a complete set of identical notebooks with your company’s logotype for your employees.

The idea of creating unique moleskines is not novel – the practice of such service has existed in Europe and the USA for a few years. A great deal of interesting series of notebooks modified for certain client have been designed in collaboration with companies, institutions and various cultural, entrepreneurial, and social initiatives.

MoMA Retrospective Rossellini

Rossellini MoleskineRoberto Rossellini is a giant among film directors. His work dramatically changed not only the way films were made, but also the place and sense of cinema as a whole within Western culture. It was Rossellini who gave birth to Italian Neo-realism. The Museum of Modern Art  (MoMA) in New York celebrated the centennial of Rossellini’s birth with a retrospective of his films, and chose Moleskine to create a customized notebook for the event.

MoMA needed a very special gift for VIP guests attending the opening screening of the series. The centerpiece of the design was Rossellini’s signature, which was debossed on the cover, and the logo of the museum. The MoMA logo and the occasion for which the event was organized were silk screened on the flyleaf of the notebook. To complete the design, Moleskine also created a customized paper band that included the names of Rossellini’s best-known films.

The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama

The Missing PeaceHis Holiness the Dalai Lama is the leader of Tibetan Buddhism, a great statesman and a Nobel laureate, but above all else he is a man of peace. In honor of the Dalai Lama, 80 artists from around the world searched their own experiences and belief systems to create works showing how they perceive him and the principals he stands for. The result is The Missing Peace: Artists consider the Dalai Lama, a traveling exhibit comprising images, themes and media that suggest the many roles the Dalai Lama plays within his world and ours. The organizers sought to broaden appreciation for the principles embodied by the Dalai Lama: wisdom, reconciliation, spiritual fulfillment and peace.

For the Missing Peace Moleskine designed a simple, elegant notebook. The large Moleskine sketchbook features a dry debossed Tibetan numeral 14, for the current 14th Dalai Lama. This sparse, powerful icon is complemented by a deep brown paper band imprinted with the name of the exhibition.

Sigur Ros and Moleskine

Sigur Ros LogoFor sure fans of Sigur Rós, the Icelandic band formed in 1994 to describe, through sounds, the wonders of their land, know that the name of the groups comes from the name of the sister of Jónsi, the singer (Sigurrós, literally means “Rose of Victory” born in august of that same year).

Something that they might not know is that the Moleskine that were part of their merchandising of their 2006 tour was entirely designed by the group. Experimentation has always been vital to the creative component of the band. They have produced a product deeply linked with the essence and image of the band. The dreamlike and evocative graphic mark was reproduced on the notebook using transaparent colours and iridescent images, alongside Sigur Ros logo.

Switzerland and its most greedy product Jazz

Jazz Festival Moleskine16 Days of Concerts, 19 Million of Budget, 230000 Visitors, 650 Journalists and 1350 Staff are some of the numbers of the event that in the last 40 years has attracted jazz music fans (and not only) in Switzerland: the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, the Festival has become an unmissable event with guests such as Miles Davis, Ray Charles, David Bowie, Massive Attack, Ella Fitzgerlad, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Santana. Jazz music may have constituted the Festival’s historic roots, but other musical styles quickly found their place within the festival.

The 40th edition was an apotheosis, a milestone for the Festival. For this event Moleskine has edited two formats: the classic notebook (with a personalised band, logo and illustrations by Katrin Olina in the very first pages), and a limited edition notebook (just 3 copies!) as precious instrument to collect the Festival artists’ autographs.

Moleskine Goes On the Road with Harvard

Harvard MoleskineHarvard University Graduate School of Design incorporates field trips into its course content to complement class instruction and expose students to different creative environments. Whatever the destination, Harvard students are expected to record their thoughts, ideas and sketches for critical analysis back in the classroom—customized Moleskine notebooks are Harvard’s tool of choice for such events, providing its students with the best medium for the task.

The pocket size Moleskine sketchbook is the perfect companion for design students, since it fits conveniently in a bag or pocket, letting the user note down ideas and concepts immediately. The university’s customized sketchbook was debossed with the Harvard seal, prominently displayed on the upper half of the cover. The sketchbook’s thicker, acid-free pages give the notebook the ability to accommodate every artist’s chosen medium, whether pencil, watercolor or charcoal. It’s an especially good choice for ink, since the pages absorb the pigment without letting the ink bleed through onto the next page.

Analog Icon for Apple

Apple Analog IconApple is the premier innovator in the digital world, creating technology for computers, music and entertainment that inspire enormous loyalty among its customers. In the analog world, Moleskine commands a level of enthusiasm and respect among creative professionals, artists and writers that is matched only by the likes of Macintosh computers and iPods. So it’s no surprise that Apple turned to Moleskine in order to create a customized Moleskine notebook for its 2007 Worldwide Store Summit.

Moleskine conceived a limited edition notebook as a special gift for summit attendees, providing them with the ultimate analog tool for recording their ideas during the summit. Apple requested an elegant presentation for the design, given that the legendary Apple is among the most recognizable corporate logos, with no need for exaggeration - the Apple logo was debossed in the upper right-hand corner of the notebook. A large graph paper notebook was chosen, pared with a striking yellow classic Moleskine paper band.

Moleskine is useful in a wide field of action that complements the creative arts and professions, studying, research and leisure time. Moleskine expresses values and lifestyles both classic and contemporary, and now it not only helps you be accurate and look smart, but also complements your unique style.
